Changes in FDIC Deposit Insurance Coverage
The FDIC has permanently increased the deposit insurance up to $250,000 per depositor.
In addition, the FDIC has a temporary Transaction Account Guarantee (TAG) Program in place. This program provides full coverage for non-interest bearing transaction deposit accounts and for certain NOW accounts, those earning no more than 0.25%, at FDIC-Insured institutions that agree to participate in the program. Ravenswood Bank is a participant in this program.
This unlimited insurance coverage under the TAG program is temporary and is in effect only through December 31, 2010.
